On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your self-confidence? Would it be right to say that most of the human population is not confident enough in their own abilities? How do we get to the point where we are happy with what we see in the mirror? How good is the feeling of walking with our head up high, where we are true to ourselves and don’t give a damn about what other people think about us? Well, we do care, but we are confident enough in our way so people would just have to accept it.
Here’s an exercise you could practice right now. Stand in front of the mirror, give yourself a smile, your best possible smile, the one that hides those wrinkles you don’t like, and shows your best white teeth. Then, tell yourself:
- I am confident.
- I am possible.
- I am true to myself.
- I am going to do what I really want to do.
- I am going to believe in this for more than just the next half an hour.

Be consistent. Be confident. You are who you are. And there’s only one of you in this world, so you are special – never forget that!
So the next time anything puts you down – someone says something about you, something happens that didn’t go your way, and your self-doubts are all over the place again, do you know what you need to do?
- Option 1: go back to the exercise above, stand in front of the mirror, and start all over again. If you need a cold shower to wash away a bad day, do not hesitate.
- Option 2: put the volume up and play the song below.
When the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I’m gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out
I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I’m meant to be, this is me
Look out ’cause here I come
And I’m marching on to the beat I drum
I’m not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is me
The Greatest Showman
I need to do this today because I feel like I’m plunging into the abyss here… 😉 🙄
